Social Media is ubiquitous in everyday life, how can photographers best use it to promote themselves and their brand? This two-part course will explore tools and applications of social media and the implications of their use in the photography field. Best practices and supporting research are also addressed, as well as the dynamics of group, company, and influencer collaboration, experienced through recommended class projects. Assignments from this course are intentionally open-ended and encourage students to explore. Students should come prepared with questions on the audience they're trying to reach, examples of social media they enjoy viewing, and have a website and working knowledge of Instagram, Facebook and what content it is they would like to promote and accomplish.
