Girl Scouts

Any youth in grades K-12 in Winchester, Massachusetts is welcome to join a troop or participate as an independent Juliette in our Girl Scout program. We have more than 30 troops in all the following Levels:

  • Daisy Girl Scouts (Kindergarten and 1st Grade)
  • Brownie Girl Scouts (2nd and 3rd Grades)
  • Junior Girl Scouts (4th and 5th Grades)
  • Cadette Girl Scouts (6th through 8th Grades)
  • Senior Girl Scouts (9th and 10th Grades)
  • Ambasador Girl Scouts (11th and 12th Grades).

We have active troops with girls at all town schools, and troops that meet at different locations such as the various public schools or local houses of worship.

We are always looking for new troop leaders as well. Whether or not you were ever a Girl Scout, we’d love to have you if you like working with girls and believe in their potential for leadership. Training is available to help you get up and running.

Mission

Girl Scouts is dedicated to giving our youth opportunities to try new things, grow in their leadership abilities, and become active members of the community around them. We are a welcoming community and are committed to having all interested families participate. As an organization, Girl Scouts welcomes all youth that identify as a girl as well as those who are gender-nonconforming, non-binary, gender creative, or identified as a girl at some point in their lives. We provide a space to belong for youth of all abilities, all races and ethnicities, from all religious backgrounds and spiritual beliefs—all in a girl-only environment with no economic barriers. While the majority of our adult volunteers are the mothers of their Girl Scout, in Winchester we also have fathers, aunts, grandparents, foster parents, as well as adults with no children of their own as troop leaders, program facilitators, and in other volunteer roles.

Volunteer opportunities

We have opportunities to volunteer regularly, occasionally, or even just once a year. Looking for troop leaders, town wide communications facilitation, to run badge workshops, mentor service projects, and serve as another set of hands at events. Reach out to winchestergirlscouts@gmail.com to learn more how you can help our youth grow in confidence, character, and conviction.
