Winchester Invasive Plant Clean-Up

Join in this annual event to improve town wetlands and wildlife habitats by cutting back and removing invasives such as bittersweet and knotweed. Activities focus on two areas:

  • Judkins Pond, starting at the Griffin Museum parking lot
  • Borgaard Beach, off Palmer Street between the housing development and the tennis courts

All are welcome. Wear clothing that covers your legs, feet, and arms. Bring your own pruners/loppers and work gloves (a few tools will be available at the site).

Winchester Riverwalk Sculpture Park Opening Ceremony

Arts Winchester is excited to invite you to the opening of Winchester’s new Riverwalk Sculpture Park! Enjoy music by the Winchester High School Octets learn more about the park, its artworks, and its ecology. This event is free and open to the public.

The Griffin Museum next door will host arts events all day, including a cyanotype workshop and a Korean cultural night.

Winchester Sustainability Tour

Join us for a tour of Lynch Elementary School! The new Lynch Elementary School opened in September, 2025 and is Winchester's first all-electric, net zero energy school building. Join Principal Chrissy Capodanno and Ken Pruitt, Winchester Sustainability Director, for an Earth Month tour that will feature the building's all-electric heat pump heating and air conditioning system, smart building controls, parking canopy solar arrays, electric vehicle charging stations and more. Tour starts outside the front entrance at 3:00 p.m. Children of all ages welcome.

Winchester's 5th Indigenous Peoples' Day Family Celebration

Winchester's 5th Annual Indigenous Peoples' Day Family Celebration is happening on Monday, October 13, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Wright-Locke Farm!

Starting at 10:00 am, we'll have various activities and advocacy opportunities, both for families with young children as well as for all lifelong learners.

From 11-12, you won't want to miss the Red Hawk Singers and Dancers interactive performance!

World of Orchids 2024

The annual three-day show sponsored the the Massachusetts Orchid Society is Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 8–10.  Show Admission is $10 per person. Purchase tickets online, in-person or become a member today. Free admission to current MOS members and children under 8 yrs.

Exhibits & Sales Area are open to public (with admission) on Friday 12:30–5:00 pm, Saturday 10 am–5 pm, and Sunday 10 am–4 pm.

Wright Locke Farm Talk: Pollinators, Poisons & Planting

A free event for the community to discuss how to best protect our pollinators, natural strategies for gardening and planting that sidestep the use of pesticides and chemicals, and how our planting methods impact the ecosystem at large. There will be a presentation for approximately an hour, followed by a casual Q&A. Registration strongly encouraged!
