Learn About Age-Friendly Winchester

The Town of Winchester was declared an “Age-Friendly Community” by AARP in 2018. The goal of Age-friendly Winchester is to actively work towards creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for its aging population. The Winchester Council on Aging, operating through the Jenks Center, played a pivotal role in guiding the town's efforts to achieve the "Age-Friendly Designation" from AARP and the World Health Organization. In February 2025 a committee was formed to further implementation of objectives that included the development of a survey and review of survey results. The committee has developed a report with recommendations and request further feedback from Winchester residents, primarily older adults. With your feedback, the committee will create an action plan to ensure that the initiatives are closely aligned with the community's needs and aspirations.
