Nuclear Family | Artist Reception

Please join us for a reception on Thursday, January 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. to celebrate the work of Mengwen Cao, Jess T. Dugan, Yorgos Efthymiadis, Matthew Leifheit, Laurence Philomene, Anne Vetter, Matthew Finley and Kevin Bennett Moore. What makes a family? How do we define community? These fundamental questions are explored in the exhibition Nuclear Family, which re-imagines the concept of family, expanding our vision beyond traditional norms through the lens of LGBTQIA+ artists. The term traditional family often evokes a specific image: two heterosexual parents and their children. However

Picturing the Future | Support the Griffin Museum's Futures Fund

We invite you to a special evening of creativity, community, and support for photography and the Griffin Museum.

This year, our museum faces unprecedented challenges, and we need your support more than ever. Arts institutions worldwide are facing a critical financial crisis, and we are not immune. Your generous contribution is crucial to our survival, and it will allow us to continue to explore and showcase the ever-changing world of photography for years to come.

We have set a goal of raising $25,000 to support our exhibitions, education, programs and operations.

Summer Exhibitions | Artist Reception in Winchester

Happy Summer! The Griffin is excited to celebrate our many exhibitions on view with a special artist reception on July 11th.

Join us in person from 6 to 8pm to celebrate the curators and artists from The 31st Annual Juried Members Exhibition, The 15th Annual Photobook and Handmade Photobook Exhibitions, as well as Alina Saranti and Tony Loreti.

Susan Weiss | The Orchard - Artist Talk & Book Signing

The Griffin Museum is pleased to present an afternoon with photographer Susan Weiss, the creative artist behind her new monograph, The Orchard.

Join us on Saturday, March 15th, starting at 2.30pm at the museum in Winchester for a presentation by Weiss, with a book signing following the talk. Books will be on hand for purchase at this event. THE ORCHARD is the photographic study, created in an abstract manner, of an apple orchard in Vermont. Photographed over a two year period, 2020-2022, through all seasons, the images reveal seasonal changes as well as evoke emotional states of the artist

Winchester Artists Exhibit Reception at the Library

Come celebrate great art and meet the artists at the reception for a month-long exhibit of artworks by members of the Winchester Artists Network. Artwork on view includes oil paintings, acrylics paintings, watercolors, collage, photography, textile art, ceramics, and mixed media work.

Winchester Riverwalk Sculpture Park Opening Ceremony

Arts Winchester is excited to invite you to the opening of Winchester’s new Riverwalk Sculpture Park! Enjoy music by the Winchester High School Octets learn more about the park, its artworks, and its ecology. This event is free and open to the public.

The Griffin Museum next door will host arts events all day, including a cyanotype workshop and a Korean cultural night.
