Brioch received her BFA in printmaking and painting from the University of Texas at El Paso, where she developed a passion for alternative photographic processes and abstract forms.

Come meet Fenway Fan and view her beautiful artwork at Catch A Falling Star on Main Street, as part of Art in August. Fenway has spent over a decade creating for global brands like Disney, Hasbro, and NBCUniversal, honing her design voice across storytelling, character development, and immersive visual worlds. Through intuitive painting, stained glass, paper art, and energy-centered artworks, Fenway creates pieces that speak to both the heart and the eye. Recently, she painted a utility box near the intersection of Main Street and Swanton Street in Winchester.

Art in August reception: Meet Holly Khalil

Come meet Holly Khalil and view her beautiful oil paintings at Cosmo Capri in Winchester Terrace, as part of Art in August. Holly graduated from Emory University in 2004 with degrees in Economics and Visual Arts and settled in Winchester in 2023. She is a mother of three. Holly has already made a lasting contribution to the Winchester community by painting two utility boxes, one near Vinson-Owen School and one near Mt. Vernon House.

Art in August reception: Meet Joyce Westner

Come meet Joyce Westner and view her beautiful watercolors at Bespoke of Winchester, as part of Art in August. Joyce, a 49-year resident of Winchester, took up botanical painting about ten years ago and is now a past-president of the New England Society of Botanical Artists. Joyce has a degree in journalism and, in 2024, she and a group of volunteers started Winchester News, a free non-profit digital newspaper.

Art in August reception: Meet Michimo Katsumi

Come meet Michimo Katsumi and view her innovative mixed-media creations at Revolve on Thompson Street, as part of Art in August. Michiko was born in Shizuoka, Japan, and currently lives and works in Winchester. She has a degree in Textile Design from Joshibi University in Japan and has had private studies in Japanese ink painting (fufo ga). Her work shows a new and sometimes whimsical take on familiar objects.

Art in August reception: Meet Wendy Jo New and Sue Clark

The first of Art in August's 2024 "meet the artist" receptions takes place on Thursday, August 7, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Commonwealth Real Estate, 39 Church St. Everyone is welcome to meet Wendy Jo New, maker of fine contemporary jewelry, and Sue Whitten Clark, creator of beautiful textile art. Admission is free, refreshments are served—come to look or to buy!

Art in August 2025 features artist receptions on every Thursday evening in the month of August.

Art in the Park

Art in the Park is a public outdoor art activity free and open to the public, with demonstrations, participatory art, and exhibition and sale of works by local artists. The event is held on the Winchester Common on Saturday, August 16, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, in conjunction with the weekly Farmers' Market. It is a highlight of the month-long Art in August festival.
